Colorful leaves. Crisp apples. Pumpkins galore. It's that time of year again: cider mill season. This year brings a return to a more normal-looking fall season after several cider mills put restrictions in place last year due to the COVID pandemic.
But with the availability of vaccinations and state restrictions being eliminated, cider mills are largely returning to operations that resemble what they looked like in Perhaps one of the most well-known cider mills in metro Detroit is reopening its buildings this year in anticipation of the large crowds planning to make the drive. The popular cider mill welcomes guests to purchase baked goods and other treats in the main sales area in front of the mill, which was not open last year.
Those who enter the main sales area will be required to don a face covering, though masks won't be required in the outdoor lower sales area. Online ordering, which was used last year, will return again this year. Guests will be able to see how cider is made at the mill, as well as enjoy typically treats such as doughnuts and other goodies.
